I’ll tell you what’s good here, what won’t disappoint you – the most obvious, plain dish that my snob senses scoff at: the rotisserie chicken. Delicate, moist, hardened skin, a rotisserie with, I believe, cinnamon cooked into it. Simple, cheap, and hits every spot.
The ceviche should be good. They seem to specialize in it. I found it to be rawer than I am used to. The portions at the bottom of the bowl seemed to taste much better though, they were more infused with flavor and possibly more cooked by the liquid solution.
Papa Rellena tasted like it came from a restaurant in the East Village. After Red Hook Ballfields, I shouldn’t even bother ordering this indoors.
I won’t return, but if you like dining in Manhattan with the occasional excursion to Outback or Chipotle you will probably like it.
