Dim Sum: Steam Pork Suimai

Steam Pork Suimai
Steamed Pork Suimai
This is the standard “Dim Sum” dish in a chinese menu. Frequently this is the other dumpling at a chinese buffet not a wonton.
The shell is wrinkly and the insides are ground pork with some shrimp pieces in there. It’s one of the more solid dishes out there. These have never agreed with me, possibly because of the amount of chewing involved.

also known as: shui mai, shu mai, sui mai, sui maai, shui mei, siu mai, shao mai, siew mai or siomai
