Grotta Azzurra Italian Restrnt & Pizza
good REAL italian food and full figured crazy woman to go along with it. Mama, I call her, but not to her face. She is blunt, she owns the place, she serves the food, she will tell you stories, shes big and shes a wonderful person. What makes it is probably half about the experience, and a third the food. 4 stars for mama.

YES, The Grotta Azzurra is the best place for real New York Style pizza period!!! Even better on Monday nights when 8 slice pizzas are just $6.95! They have an extensive menue and deliver everyything to your door or dorm room! And for a more traditional quant italian experience, check out their 2nd location “Grotta’s” 126 Front st (4 Corners) Vestal(785-0222)

We had dinner at Grotta’s at Vestal corners………we enjoyed the European style of dining out….they made everything to order……so delicious salad and wonderful garlic buns and we enjoyed the lasagna dinner and chicken marsala……and we left a little room for dessert that was absolutely the best Italian homemade cheesecake that I have had in 50 years………………delicate, delicious and not too sweet……..tablecovers, flowers and lots of nice decor……………….everything is made to order…..so we had to wait for the main course…..but she served our drinks and then the salad and the homemade garlic rolls……………………..I could not eat everything so I took the rest home….
we had the pizza there several days ago…..very thin and very delicious….but they will make it any way that you like….or make any other speciality if they have all the ingredients……..very good food, very clean and very pleasant surroundings…
